Why I love our Dyson...

We got the Dyson DC14 about 2 weeks ago and it was honestly the best money ever spent. It's so much better than our $40 vacuum!! We paid $341 at Home Depot (naturally it's on sale for much less now!) and we couldn't be happier with it.

It's done a great job of getting dust and dirt out of the house and it comes with a lifetime HEPA filter. It's done wonders for all of us that suffer from allergies :)

A cloudy morning...

It's warm and cloudy this morning. I hate it!!

Ryan is home sick today but may be able to go to school tomorrow.

Kaleigh's face is looking better after the cat "attacked" her last night.

I'm feeling just a little better. My headache comes and goes. I didn't sleep well last night (which is unusual) so I'm extra tired today.

Here are some pics as promised-

The scratches from the cat about a hour after it happened

"Mommy says this magic ice and towel will make everything better"

"And then she just scratched me!!!"

Ryan showing what he believes Sasha looked like at the time of the attack

Everything is better and the crying has stopped

Cat scratch fever!

So here's what happened...

Sasha (the cat that is scared of everyone and everything) made her way into our bedroom and hid under Kaleigh's bed. Kaleigh was on the floor playing by her bed and one of her toys rolled under the bed. She reached under the bed to get her toy and saw Sasha. She said "awww hi Sasha" and then Sasha scratched her. She's got 4 scratches on the left side of her face.

Kaleigh's walking around with an ice pack on her cheek until the pain goes away.

Ryan came home from school early. He's got strep throat :(

I should have some pictures of Kaleigh's face tomorrow and I'll post them

I've got a case of the "Mondays"

So I have a headache but it has to be from the Cedar in the air. Ryan has strep throat but mom sent him to school anyway this morning. If he gets sent home early, that's no big deal but she wanted him to try to make it. If he misses more than 3 days in a row then he has to get a dr note and he's not insured so that's a problem.

I spent the weekend cleaning and organizing. The tax return should be in our hands before Valentine's day and we can FINALLY get a different car!!!

We've decided we are going to paint the house but we haven't settled on the colors. We know we want to use Antique Green somewhere but we have no idea where yet.

Here are some pictures from this weekend-

This is Bella. She's our adopted outdoor cat. We found her in the backyard around Thanksgiving last year and she was skin and bones. When you'd go to pet her, you could feel every bone in her body. We've been feeding her and giving her water and letting her sleep on the back porch and she's now a VERY healthy girl. We will be taking her in to get fixed next month but I doubt she'll every come inside the house. She's very scared of other cats so she wouldn't do well inside.

Here's Ryan on Friday afternoon. We were on our way to get food to celebrate his 100 on his spelling test.

This one and the next 2 are from the River on Saturday morning.

Hello hello!

Well it's been a while. I'm sitting here watching Pretty Woman and I thought I'd blog for a few minutes.

Today I went to two yard sales and spent all of $10 on nothing special. I bought Crystal a few things for the new baby and Kaleigh a new toy.

Ryan and Kaleigh played most of the day, they laughed and giggled. They like to play tag all the time :)

I'll write more tomorrow, I'm super tired tonight

It's been a while...

Ok it's time to play catch up :)

My mom had been sick and they couldn't figure out what was going on so her doctor put her on blood pressure medication to try and get her BP down to "normal" but she had a severe allergic reaction to the medication. Her doctor put her on HCTZ and mom has been fine with that ever since. Then mom went in to the hospital for a Thyroid scan a while ago. We got the results today and mom has an overactive thyroid gland but the scan showed that there were NO masses and NO tumors :)

Ryan raised $140 for his Diabetes school walk (one of the top 3 in his school).

I've got tons of pictures and a bunch more to say but I've got Ryan home sick today and between him and Kaleigh's "terrible 3's", I don't have much time.

I'll write more soon

Not much time

I don't have a lot of time to update this like I had hoped. My mom is feeling terrible today and I need to get her to the hospital again this morning for the 2nd half of her thyroid scan.

I will get on here as soon as I can and update
